Stepping into Benchmark Projects to Deepen Business Integration | Company Conducts Observation and Study Tour of the Tongxiang Service Area Project
On April 3, Zhejiang Dadi Steel Structure Co., Ltd. organized relevant departments to visit the Tongxiang Service Area for a specialized observation and study session.
On-Site Observation: Experience the Hardcore Capabilities of “Steel Curtain Integration”
The Tongxiang Service Area, located on the Tongxiang section of the Su-Tai Expressway, is the province’s first three-dimensional, open-style service area that spans across an expressway. The architectural design draws inspiration from the graceful wings of a butterfly and the flowing lines of Jiangnan silk, serving as a key gateway node in Zhejiang’s expressway network and a complementary facility that showcases Wuzhen’s cultural and tourism offerings. Integrating transportation services with cultural and tourism displays, the facility places aesthetics, safety, and energy efficiency at its core, creating a landmark along the expressway that seamlessly blends the charm of Jiangnan water towns with a modern sensibility.
The project has a gross floor area of approximately 32,000 square meters and incorporates multiple systems, including a hyperbolic honeycomb aluminum panel roof, aluminum curtain wall panels, and glass curtain walls. The large total area of the curtain wall, combined with its extensive use of hyperbolic surfaces, demands exceptionally high construction accuracy; the concurrent execution of multiple specialized systems further complicates coordination and increases organizational challenges; working across a highway poses significant safety risks, limits available construction time, and places tight constraints on the schedule, thereby intensifying pressure on schedule control and resource allocation and placing extremely stringent requirements on construction precision and collaborative management.
On the afternoon of the 3rd, after hearing a comprehensive briefing on the project from the project manager, the observation team conducted an on-site visit, focusing on key aspects such as construction execution, quality control, safety management, and process optimization. Throughout the tour, participants observed, discussed, and learned on the spot. From the precise positioning of the steel structure to the seamless installation of the curtain wall, from the orderly coordination achieved through “zoned assembly-line plus interleaved construction” to the rigorous oversight of safety and quality, the visitors gained a direct and vivid understanding of the significant advantages of the “integrated” delivery model in terms of shortening construction schedules, enhancing quality, and reducing coordination costs.
Panel Discussion: Uncovering the “Methodology” Behind Project Management
Following the on-site visit, a symposium was held in the project office conference room. The project manager delivered a keynote presentation on “Project Management Practices at the Tongxiang Service Area,” focusing on the key challenges and critical issues in construction and the corresponding mitigation strategies.
During the interactive session, participants drew on their firsthand observations to engage in an in-depth discussion of practical experiences related to “steel curtain–integrated systems” in areas such as detailed design, fabrication and processing, on-site installation, and end-to-end collaborative management. They also exchanged ideas on how to apply these lessons learned to subsequent project construction.
Learning Drives Action: Transforming Benchmark Practices into Momentum for Development
This visit and study session represents a vivid example of the company’s efforts to foster deep integration between functional departments and frontline project teams. By engaging directly with projects and getting close to the front lines, we have further strengthened internal collaboration and established a platform for mutual learning and exchange.
Going forward, the company will continue to organize such learning and exchange initiatives to foster alignment and synergy between functional departments and frontline project teams, leveraging benchmark projects as guiding beacons to jointly drive the company’s high-quality development.
