Recently, the first phase of steel structure fabrication for Indonesia’s FHT nickel‑iron project has been successfully completed, with the initial shipment of components from the electric‑furnace smelting workshop now en route to the project site in Indonesia. This milestone marks a critical transition: the project has officially moved from the fabrication stage to the preparatory phase for on‑site installation, laying a solid foundation for efficient execution going forward.
The port‑side infrastructure project supporting the FHT nickel‑iron plant in Indonesia is located within the BULI Industrial Park in East Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province. The scope encompasses the construction and renovation of four wharf berths in the marine works segment, as well as nine standalone structures and associated outdoor civil‑engineering works on the land side. The first batch of components shipped this time totals 1,501 tonnes, primarily consisting of box‑section columns and H‑beams, and is destined for the project’s core metallurgical facilities.
To ensure the safe, efficient, and orderly progress of the first shipment, the project team conducted advance planning and meticulous deployment, rigorously adhering to international standards and project requirements while precisely coordinating all stages, including production, inspection, packaging, and logistics. In response to the large volume of components from the first batch of the electric‑arc furnace smelting workshop, tight timelines, and stringent packaging specifications, the team scientifically optimized the packaging strategy and transportation plan, clearly defined responsibilities at each stage, and maintained rigorous quality and safety controls throughout the process. Each batch of components underwent thorough inspection and standardized packaging to guarantee their integrity during the long‑distance sea transport.
During the shipping phase, the project team collaborated seamlessly with logistics partners and optimized vehicle deployment, leveraging its exceptional organizational capabilities to overcome the challenges of transporting large volumes of prefabricated components to the port. This demonstrated the robust expertise of Chinese enterprises in delivering overseas projects and managing supply chains.
The successful shipment of the first batch of components has sounded the charge for the project’s all‑out, intensive phase and underscored the company’s competitive edge in the international project‑services arena. Moving forward, the project team will remain committed to a work ethos of high standards, rigorous discipline, and exceptional efficiency, steadily advancing the fabrication and delivery of subsequent batches. By closely monitoring key project milestones, strengthening cross‑functional coordination, and ensuring seamless integration across all phases, the team will align with on‑site installation schedules and help bring the Indonesian nickel‑iron plant to early completion and commissioning.
