The steel structure of the insulation workshop for the equipment manufacturing project at Hengli Shipbuilding (Dalian) Co., Ltd. has been successfully lifted for the first time.

On May 3, the first steel column in the insulation workshop of the equipment‑manufacturing project at Hengli Shipbuilding (Dalian) Co., Ltd. was successfully lifted into place, marking the official transition of the project into the main structural construction phase.

The insulation workshop features a single‑story portal frame structural system, measuring 361 meters in length, 72.1 meters in width, with a ridge elevation of 56.5 meters. Its total floor area is 26,291.25 square meters, and the eave height is 55 meters. The primary structural system employs a planar truss configuration, comprising truss columns, roof‑top orthogonally arranged plane trusses, and wind‑bracing columns, with a span of approximately 60 meters.

From the signing of the contract to the commencement of on-site operations, the project faced a tight timeline. In response, the manufacturing base sprang into action, working overtime to complete the high‑quality fabrication and shipment of the first batch of components in just about 20 days. By successfully overcoming pre‑holiday logistics challenges, they ensured timely delivery of the components to the construction site.

On the day of the lifting operation, the construction site was alive with the roar of machinery, as workers toiled on the front lines. The first double‑leg lattice column was slowly hoisted and precisely positioned under the traction of a crawler crane, with the entire process proceeding safely and smoothly, and the operation meticulously organized. In the face of challenges such as the components’ extreme length and width, coupled with stringent installation tolerances, the project team prepared a dedicated construction plan in advance, rigorously recalculated lifting parameters, conducted thorough safety and technical briefings, and seized the prime “May Day” construction window to successfully meet the scheduled milestone.

Drawing on the company’s extensive construction experience gained from numerous large‑scale shipyard projects, including Phase II of the CSSC Changxing Shipbuilding Base in Shanghai and the Qingdao Beihai Shipyard of China Shipbuilding Group, the project team has developed a mature and reliable, end‑to‑end control system for critical processes such as the installation of massive lattice columns, the assembly of large‑span planar trusses, and their precise high‑altitude positioning.

The project team stated that it will continue to strengthen safety and quality management, optimize construction planning and deployment, and vigorously advance the closure of the main structural framework, striving to complete the roof capping of all workshop buildings at an early date and contributing its full efforts to the construction of the Dalian Hengli Shipbuilding Equipment Manufacturing Project.
