Successful First Steel Structure Erection for the Huaibei West Station Building of the Huaibei–Suzhou–Bengbu Intercity Railway
On October 28, the steel structure construction of the new Huaibei West Station for the Huaibei–Suqian–Bengbu Intercity Railway successfully completed the hoisting of its first steel column, marking the official commencement of the project’s main structural construction phase.
Huaibei West Station is located in E’xi County, Huaibei City, Anhui Province. The station building has a floor area of 21,991 square meters and a height of 37.5 meters, employing a reinforced concrete frame structure combined with a steel diagonal truss system. The station consists of two main sections: an elevated platform above the tracks and a side-platform building. Passengers enter the station by disembarking on the second-floor elevated concourse.
The project’s roof has a projected area of approximately 19,500 square meters and employs a diagonal-crossed steel truss structural system supported by 29 concrete-filled circular steel tubular columns. The maximum span is 132.4 meters, with a maximum cantilever length of 9.2 meters. The roof is equipped with skylights, whose top elevation is 32.8 meters.
As a key station on the Huaibei–Suqian–Bengbu Intercity Railway, Huaibei West Station, upon completion, will serve as a convenient link connecting the northern Anhui urban agglomeration with the Hefei Metropolitan Area and regions such as the Shanghai–Nanjing–Hangzhou corridor, thereby significantly enhancing the region’s transportation connectivity and fostering high-quality economic and social development.
