Workplace Etiquette and Proper Conduct | Company-Wide Participation in Professional Business Etiquette Training

Business etiquette is a form of professional decorum in social interactions; it is directed toward the general public and serves as a public representation of one’s professional image. Elegant and refined manners convey signals of respect, friendliness, and reliability, thereby facilitating the smooth progression of business collaborations. As the saying goes, “Without propriety, one cannot stand; without propriety, no undertaking can succeed.” In the workplace, etiquette is of paramount importance—both for individuals and for organizations.

To enhance the professional image of our employees and cultivate a standard workplace etiquette, our company organized a business etiquette training session on November 20. The session featured instructor Liu Pingli, who has extensive experience in communication skills and cognitive training. All of our management personnel attended the training.

Beginning with the case of a post-1995 individual taking clients on the subway, the session introduces the topic and encourages participants to engage in a discussion on business etiquette. Subsequently, the session provides a detailed exploration of workplace etiquette across four key areas: professional image, professional demeanor, business interactions, and table manners.

During the training, participants were divided into four groups and engaged in a question-and-answer competition to boost overall enthusiasm and participation. In addition, numerous business scenarios were simulated, such as “observing customers buying coffee,” “politely ending a telephone dispute,” and “arranging parking spaces.” These thought-provoking and memorable scenarios further encouraged participants to reflect on and discuss real-world business practices.

Mr. Fang Shunsheng, General Manager of the company, stated that this training was highly interactive, engaging, and well-received, and expressed his hope that all employees would follow a three-step process: learning and upskilling, deepening understanding through reflection, and applying knowledge in practice. As the saying goes, “When two armies meet, the brave prevail; when the brave meet, the wise prevail; and when the wise meet, the doers prevail.” He urged our employees to put what they have learned into practice in their daily work, thereby showcasing our company’s commitment to excellence and professional integrity.
