Balancing Pandemic Prevention and Production: Two Major Company Projects Successfully Complete Key Milestones

Since March, the national epidemic has been characterized by numerous outbreak hotspots, wide geographic spread, and frequent occurrences. Pandemic control measures have led to the suspension of some logistics operations, disruptions in transportation, and obstacles in the movement of raw materials, thereby placing project construction under significant strain. In response to the epidemic, our company has taken proactive steps, convening multiple meetings to develop contingency plans and address construction challenges, racing against time and fighting the pandemic head-on.

I. China Duty Free Hainan International Logistics Center Project (Phase II)

On March 29, the main structure of the Hainan International Logistics Center project (Phase II) of China Duty Free Group was successfully topped out. Located in Plot A09 within the Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Haikou City, Hainan Province, the zone is approximately 3 kilometers from Haikou’s central urban area and Haikou Port, and serves as an important component of the southern development plan for Haikou’s central urban cluster.

Parcel A09 is planned to comprise four warehouse buildings and one multi-purpose building, with a total land area of 66,919.64 square meters and a total floor area of 99,263.27 square meters. The project will be developed in two phases, with Phase I consisting of two warehouse buildings and one multi-purpose building. Phase II, adjacent to Phase I, includes two warehouse buildings and an equipment corridor, with a total floor area of 40,713.8 square meters. Upon completion, the warehouses will integrate end-to-end logistics supply-chain operations across the entire island, enhancing the efficiency and profitability of customs clearance and last-mile delivery services.

II. Siemens (Hangzhou) High-Voltage Switchgear Limited Company General Contracting Project for the Test Hall

On March 29, the upper space frame of the SHVC test hall for the new production and testing technology upgrade project—aimed at increasing annual output to 250 sets of high-voltage switches and circuit breakers—at Siemens (Hangzhou) High-Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd. was successfully installed. The project is managed by Longyuan Mingzhu Prefabricated Construction Business Unit, with fabrication and construction undertaken by Dadi Steel Structure.

The project’s space frame structure is a regular square pyramid type, with bolted spherical joints and multi-point support at the bottom chord. The span of the space frame is 44.6 m, and the eave elevation is 37.5 m. Due to the large longitudinal and transverse spans of the roof steel space frame, the construction method adopted on site combines the integral lifting of a starter space frame with high-altitude loose assembly of other members: specifically, the middle bay is selected as the starter space frame; after the starter space frame is positioned using a two-crane lifting operation, high-altitude loose assembly is carried out simultaneously on both sides.

The sudden outbreak has not deterred construction workers from pressing ahead. Despite numerous challenges, each project team has adhered to the local epidemic prevention and control policies, rigorously implemented preventive measures, maintained close communication with all relevant stakeholders, and made concerted efforts to ensure timely project delivery. At present, epidemic control is at a critical juncture. All project teams under Dadi Steel Structure will earnestly and meticulously carry out key tasks such as epidemic prevention and control and safe production, striving tirelessly to achieve dual victories in both pandemic containment and project construction.
