Successful First-Lift of Steel Structure for Plot 20-01 Project, South Zone-I of Shanghai International Tourism Resort

On July 24, the first steel column was precisely hoisted into place, kicking off steel-structure construction of Plot 20-01 in South Zone-I, Shanghai International Tourism Resort. This milestone signals the official start of main-structure works.
Situated in Chuansha New Town, Pudong, the project covers a total floor area of nearly 50,000 sq m, housing R&D centres and research-laboratory facilities. Its steel-scope spans five standalone buildings with steel-frame-braced and steel-frame systems.
As a key industrial supporting project under the resort’s “One Core, Five Zones” layout, it is designed as an Asia-Pacific R&D park for creative digital entertainment. It underpins the integration of cultural tourism and technology, optimises local sci-tech carriers and boosts the resort’s industrial competitiveness.
Against tight timelines and frequent cross-trade interfaces between steel erection and civil works, the team adopted three targeted measures. It deployed technical staff for advance detailed design, leveraging physical modelling to resolve multi-discipline interface risks at critical joints. Dynamic construction planning streamlined overlapping steel-hoisting and civil-engineering workflows. Backward-scheduled resource allocation also accelerated erection progress to secure key milestones.
Moving forward, the team will enforce rigorous safety-quality standards and push ahead with construction, fuelling the development of a world-class tourist destination.
