Selected for the Shortlist of the Highest Honor! Two Major Projects Proudly Awarded the “Zhejiang Provincial Steel Structure Diamond Award”
In January 2021, the Zhejiang Provincial Steel Structure Industry Association announced the list of winners for the 2020 “China Steel Structure Gold Award” Nomination Prize (also known as the “Zhejiang Provincial Steel Structure Diamond Award”). Following preliminary review by the Association, on-site inspections and verification of technical documentation by a panel of experts, and final evaluation by the judging committee, two major projects undertaken by our company—the steel structure works for the Jinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center Project and the steel structure construction for Lot III of the Gree Electric Appliances (Nanjing) Central Air-Conditioning Project—were awarded this prestigious honor.
According to reports, the “China Steel Structure Gold Award” Nomination Prize (“Zhejiang Province Steel Structure Diamond Award”) is the highest honor for steel structure projects in Zhejiang Province. It is organized and adjudicated by the Zhejiang Provincial Steel Structure Industry Association on a biennial basis, with no more than 150 projects receiving the award each cycle. The selection process for the Diamond Award is conducted concurrently with the nomination process for the China Steel Structure Gold Award.
Jinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center Steel Structure Project:
Located in Meiling Subdistrict, Jinjiang City, Fujian Province, this project serves as one of the starting points of the ancient Quanzhou Maritime Silk Road. The total floor area is approximately 103,300 square meters, with a basement covering about 29,400 square meters and a steel consumption of 14,200 metric tons. The above-ground structural components are divided into five zones: Zone A—Exhibition Hall; Zone B—Exhibition Hall; Zone C—Central Ecological Corridor; Zone D—North Entrance Lobby; and Zone E—Conference Center and South Entrance Lobby.
The roof structure features a large-span steel truss system with a maximum span of 66 meters, and each individual facade truss weighs approximately 101 metric tons. The steel roof structure of the central ecological corridor adopts a single-curved profile, with each “ribbon” measuring 306 meters in length. This project marks Longyuan Construction Group’s first PPP contract and is also the nation’s inaugural completed PPP project in the exhibition and convention sector. As the specialized steel structure contractor, our company successfully overcame challenging construction hurdles—including the complex fabrication of intersecting-line nodes, thick-plate welding, and stringent weld-quality requirements—and passed the project review with flying colors. To date, the convention center has hosted numerous auto shows and food expos and is slated to serve as a model project for the Ministry of Finance and a benchmark case for Fujian Province’s infrastructure development.
Gree Electric Appliances (Nanjing) Central Air-Conditioning Project No. III Steel Structure Works for the Contract Section :
This project is located in Jiangning District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, covering a total land area of approximately 1,800 mu. It is characterized by high precision requirements for steel components and stringent perforation rate specifications for these components. The total floor area amounts to 116,301 square meters, comprising three separate buildings: an injection-molding workshop, a sheet-metal fabrication and painting workshop, and a materials center. The injection-molding workshop has a building height of 22.573 meters, a total floor area of 53,208.09 square meters, and two above-ground floors; the sheet-metal fabrication and painting workshop stands 23.805 meters tall, with a total floor area of 44,279.38 square meters and two above-ground floors; the materials center is 23.605 meters high, with a total floor area of 18,794 square meters and one above-ground floor.
The total steel structure work量 is approximately 15,000 tonnes. The maximum plate thickness for welding high-strength, low-alloy structural steel and other high-strength connection welds is 32 mm, with on-site welding conducted at minimum temperatures as low as -3°C. Upon completion, the project will become Gree Electric’s largest domestically-based smart manufacturing base for central air-conditioning systems.
