Steel structure erection has officially commenced for Lot I of the Gree Electric Appliances (Nanjing) Central Air-Conditioning Project.

At 9:18 a.m. on July 19, 2019, the sky over Jiangning District in Nanjing was an expanse of deep blue, dotted with fluffy white clouds. Amid the crisp, jubilant crackle of firecrackers and the dazzling display of celebratory fireworks, accompanied by the low, rhythmic rumble of cranes, the first steel column for the ancillary workshop of Lot I of the Gree Electric Appliances (Nanjing) Central Air-Conditioning Project was slowly hoisted into place—marking the official commencement of on-site installation for the project’s steel structure works.

Gree Electric Appliances is an international home-appliance company that integrates R&D, manufacturing, sales, and service. The establishment of the Nanjing Central Air-Conditioning Intelligent Manufacturing Base and its supporting projects in the Jiangning High-Tech Industrial Park represents a strategic cooperation between Gree Electric and the city of Nanjing. The first phase of the intelligent manufacturing base will primarily produce central air-conditioning systems and related components; upon completion of the entire project, it will become Gree’s largest domestic base for the intelligent manufacturing of central air-conditioning systems.

In Section I of the steel structure works, Zhejiang Dadi Steel Structure Co., Ltd. is responsible for the main steel structure and enclosure works of four major individual buildings: Supporting Warehouse No. 2, Finished Goods Warehouse No. 2, Packing Workshop No. 2, and the Materials Recycling Center, with a total building area of 105,621.99 m² and a construction period of four months.

From the very outset of the project bidding process, the company accorded the project the highest priority and proactively collaborated with the general contractor on design coordination and the modeling of critical structural components. Following the award of the contract, the company’s executive vice presidents in charge of marketing, fabrication, quality, and construction visited the construction site in succession to engage in working-level discussions with the owner, the supervising engineer, and the general contractor, provide guidance on the day-to-day operations of the on-site project office, and emphasize the need for the project management team to firmly embrace the principle of serving both the owner and the general contractor. They also urged the team to learn from and draw on the advanced practices of industry peers, continuously enhance contract performance, and thereby further elevate the reputation of the Dadi Steel Structure brand.

The successful hoisting of the steel structure for this project marks a milestone for the Nanjing Central Air-Conditioning Intelligent Manufacturing Base and signals a new beginning for Dadi Steel Structure in its commitment to serving project owners and general contractors.
