Successful First Steel Erection for the Taiping Bird Global Fashion R&D Center Project in Ningbo High-tech Zone
On December 10, the steel structure work for the Taiping Bird Global Fashion R&D Center project in Ningbo High-tech Zone successfully completed the hoisting of the first steel column, marking the official commencement of the main structural construction phase.
The project is located in the High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, with a total floor area of approximately 85,900 square meters and a building height of 35.6 meters. It comprises a single five-story office tower with a total steel consumption of 6,800 tons. The structure primarily adopts a core-tube–steel-frame system, featuring six core tubes that are integrated into a monolithic whole through peripheral steel columns and beams. Steel structural elements are distributed throughout the core tubes, the external frame, the floor-level steel beams, the atrium’s box-type staircases, and the roof trusses. In addition, partial planar steel trusses are installed on both the large and small roof surfaces, and removable reinforced concrete truss deck panels are employed.
This R&D center serves as Taiping Bird’s global strategic hub, guided by the vision of “open collaboration and co-creation for a future of innovation.” Its sculptural quadrilateral form creates an efficient, compact spatial layout, while a modular design ensures flexibility to meet diverse functional needs. The project integrates cutting-edge materials testing and development, supply-chain collaborative innovation, a showcase and launch center, and a digital platform, thereby fostering an innovative ecosystem driven by the dual engines of technology and fashion.
The smooth progress of this project not only underscores our company’s strength in architectural services for the apparel industry, but also serves as a vivid demonstration of how cutting-edge “smart manufacturing” is empowering the upgrade of fashion-industry infrastructure. Upon completion, the project will become a major hub for fashion designers and a key service center on the global stage, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Chinese fashion brands in the international fashion industry.
