Our company has successfully secured the contract for the steel structure and enclosure works of the segment construction capacity enhancement and intelligent transformation project at Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
Recently, our company successfully secured the contract for the steel structure and color-coated panel enclosure works under the segment construction capacity enhancement and intelligent transformation project at Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., marking another significant recognition of our expertise in shipyard building and renovation. This achievement follows our earlier successful execution of the expansion and upgrade project at Hudong Shipyard, representing yet another major breakthrough for Dadi Steel Structure in the shipbuilding industry.
This project to enhance sectional construction capabilities and implement intelligent upgrades focuses on the expansion of Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding’s curved-section workshop, with the aim of meeting the plant’s production development needs. The project involves adding two bays to the south side of the existing curved-section workshop, each with a main span of 240 meters in length and 45 meters in width, thereby increasing the total floor area by 22,794.32 square meters. Construction scope includes four-tube lattice columns, H-shaped wind-resistant columns, intercolumnar bracing, steel platforms, crane girders, roof bolted-sphere space frames, purlins, as well as the demolition and preservation of the existing building envelope.
As a pivotal step in significantly boosting Beihai Shipbuilding’s production capacity and advancing toward higher-end manufacturing, this project not only upgrades its block-building capabilities but also refines key elements of intelligent shipbuilding, thereby establishing a robust “hardware foundation” for China’s independent R&D of large, high-end vessels. Upon completion, Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding will achieve an annual shipbuilding capacity of 17 vessels totaling 650,000 corrected gross tons in Shipbuilding Area One, further consolidating and enhancing its global market competitiveness in the segments of ultra-large ore carriers and large bulk carriers.
The previous expansion and renovation project for the Hudong Shipyard, undertaken by Dadi Steel Structure, laid a solid foundation for this successful bid. In that project, the company successfully overcame multiple challenges—namely, the concurrent operation of shipyard production and renovation, constrained construction space, and stringent technical requirements—and delivered high-standard plant facilities that meet modern shipbuilding process requirements. This successful case not only demonstrates Dadi Steel Structure’s execution capabilities in the field of shipyard building expansion and renovation but also has accumulated valuable construction experience for the company.
