Successful First Hoisting of the Steel Structure Works for Section 1 of the Above-Ground Yard at Shanghai East Station
At 11:18 a.m. on May 19, the first steel structure hoisting for Section SHDDSSG-1 of the above-ground and related works at the newly constructed Shanghai East Railway Station was successfully completed, officially marking the project’s entry into the construction phase of the above-ground main structural system. This project represents the second large-scale railway station steel structure project that Dadi Steel Structure has formally commenced construction on in 2025, following the steel structure project for the Qiantang Station building at Hangzhou Airport High-Speed Railway Station.
Shanghai East Railway Station is located in Zhujiao Town, Pudong New Area. The station’s above-ground infrastructure covers a total floor area of 751,300 square meters, with a total capacity of 15 platforms and 30 tracks—second only to Shanghai Hongqiao Station. It is a super-large integrated transportation hub that seamlessly connects air travel, high-speed rail, metropolitan railways, and the metro.
Upon completion, the project will become an integrated transportation hub that seamlessly integrates the station, yard, and urban functions, playing a vital role in accelerating Shanghai’s development into a world-class, modern socialist international metropolis with global influence.
The project team will continue to uphold high standards and stringent requirements, adopt a work ethos of racing against time and pressing forward under increased pressure, strengthen end-to-end project management and control, rigorously advance refined management practices, and deliver high-quality construction to ensure high-caliber project performance, thereby creating a new landmark for “air-rail intermodal transport.”
