Steel Structure Work for Block B3a-01 of the Shanghai Zhangjiang Online New Economy Ecological Park Successfully Tops Out
At 9:18 a.m. on July 20, 2023, the steel structure topping-out ceremony for the Shanghai Zhangjiang Online New Economy Ecological Park Project (B3a-01, B3b-01, and the underground space beneath Wei Liu Road) was successfully held at the construction site, witnessed by the general contractor, the supervision unit, the project management unit, and company leaders.
This project is located on the northern side of the Zhangjiang-Sunqiao Science and Innovation Center in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area, with a total land area of 18,274.3 square meters and a total floor area of approximately 102,800 square meters. It proposes the construction of one 18-story A1 office building standing 82.65 meters tall and one 12-story A2 office building standing 55.65 meters tall. Upon completion, the project will become an important component of the “Golden Central Ring Development Belt” initiative in Pudong New Area, further strengthening Zhangjiang Science City’s role as a hub for scientific and technological innovation and empowering Zhangjiang’s development of the digital economy.
The project’s tower features numerous long cantilever beams, with some extending up to 3 meters in length, posing significant construction challenges. To address this, the project team deployed suspended chain hoists from the upper structure as temporary bracing devices, thereby accelerating the positioning and detachment of the cantilever steel beams and enhancing overall construction efficiency. To meet the project’s stringent quality requirements, the project management team meticulously organized and carefully planned all aspects of the work, conducting on-site welding qualification tests for welders prior to commencement to ensure superior welding quality.
As the company’s third project to break ground in the Zhangjiang area, the project team has consistently adhered to the principle of “safety first, quality paramount” since the commencement of superstructure construction. Buildings A1 and A2 have been constructed concurrently; on June 20, 2023, the steel structure of Building A2 was topped out, followed by the topping-out of Building A1 on July 20, 2023.
Moving forward, the project team will remain steadfast in its commitment and maintain a vigorous spirit as it systematically carries out subsequent work, striving with all its might to achieve key milestones. Upholding the resolve to “fight to the finish and secure victory,” the team will write a new chapter of high-quality management and efficient contract performance.
