In an era dedicated to building a robust nation through top-notch construction and embracing the spirit of craftsmanship, delivering exceptional building products stands as an enduring mission for experts in the construction industry. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Zhejiang Dadi Steel Structure Co., Ltd., (hereinafter called Dadi), we hosted the competition on January 13, 2024, at the WH7-3 Golden Valley Universal Plant Project in the vibrant South Golden Bridge area of Shanghai. The event aims to elevate the skills of our operational workforce and develop a high-caliber production team.

Over 60 participants, including Mr. Fu Shuizhong, Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai Metal Structure Industry Association, Director She Zuqun of the Technical Center, and Fang Shunsheng, GM of Dadi, joined the competition alongside project owners, supervisors, and general contracting units.

In recent years, floor slabs have gained wide use in a variety of applications, including multi-story steel structures and multi-level factories, thanks to their superior overall performance. Bolts, a critical aspect of structural connection and load transfer in the floor system, face challenges in component surface treatment, floor slab installation quality, and welding equipment during actual production. However, actual production faces challenges such as protecting component surfaces from corrosion, ensuring high-quality floor slab installation, managing welding equipment, maintaining site electrical system stability, adhering to project timelines, and ensuring welding skill proficiency. The competition focused on enhancing participants’ awareness and practical skills in quality control of bolt welding procedures.

The competition featured two segments: theoretical knowledge assessment and practical bolt welding evaluation. The overall ranking is determined by the weighted scores from both evaluations. Mr., Fu, Deputy Secretary-General,  served as the chief judge and provided positive comments on the performances of the participants. Five winning teams were selected and on-site awards were presented.

Mr. Fu expressed that this was a highly significant event that highlighted a meticulous approach to engineering quality management from a specific process point of view and commended Dadi for their innovative engineering practices.

Mr. Fang, GM of Dadi, expressed gratitude for the support from the association and related units. He stressed the significance of quality control and product quality, encouraging participants to apply their experience and competitive spirit to engineering projects. He urged them to make substantial contributions to improving the quality of engineering products, motivating everyone to collectively contribute to the construction of quality projects.
