Dadi Steel Structure Wins the “China Steel Structure Gold Award”!
In April 2021, the China Association for Metal Structures in Construction announced the list of projects awarded the 14th Batch of the China Steel Structure Gold Award for 2020. The steel structure works for the Jinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center project, which was under general contracting by Longyuan Construction Group and constructed by Zhejiang Dadi Steel Structure Co., Ltd., were honored with the 14th Batch of the China Steel Structure Gold Award.
The China Construction Engineering Steel Structure Gold Award is established by the China Association for Metal Structures in Architecture under the authorization of the Ministry of Housing and Urban–Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China, and represents the highest honor for engineering quality in China’s steel structure construction industry. The award is conferred on all types of steel structure projects undertaken by Chinese enterprises engaged in the fabrication and installation of architectural steel structures, provided that the project quality meets the leading domestic standards; the award is presented annually.
The Jinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center project is located in Meiling Subdistrict, Jinjiang City, Fujian Province, enjoying a superior geographic location as one of the starting points of the ancient Quanzhou “Maritime Silk Road.” The project has a total construction area of approximately 103,300 square meters, with a basement covering about 29,400 square meters. The above-ground structure is divided into five zones: Zone A—exhibition halls; Zone B—exhibition halls; Zone C—the central ecological corridor; Zone D—the north entrance hall; and Zone E—the convention center and south entrance hall. The total steel consumption for the project is 14,200 tons. The roof structure is a steel truss system with a maximum span of 66 meters, and individual facade trusses weigh up to 101 tons each. Zone C features a single-curved design, with a single “ribbon” spanning 306 meters.
As Jinjiang’s first PPP project, one of the first batch of Ministry of Finance–designated PPP demonstration projects in Fujian, and China’s first PPP project awarded to a consortium, the project team, while ensuring construction quality and safety, successfully overcame numerous technical challenges, including a complex structural design and significant difficulties in on-site assembly and lifting operations. Since its completion and commissioning, the facility has hosted a series of high-profile events, such as international auto shows and food expos, firmly establishing itself as a well-deserved “new” landmark!
This award not only recognizes Dadi Steel Structure’s contributions to the construction of PPP demonstration projects, but also fully showcases its professional expertise and competitive strength in the steel structure industry.
