Quality Month | Dadi Steel Structure Conducts Technical Training and Exchange on Anti-Corrosion and Fire-Resistant Coating for Steel Structures
In response to the spirit of National Quality Month, on September 19, 2024, Dadi Steel Structure Co., Ltd. specially invited technical experts from Beijing Chentai Technology Co., Ltd., Jotun Coatings Ltd., Hangzhou Yinta New Materials Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Daqiao Paint Co., Ltd., and other organizations to conduct a training and exchange session on anti-corrosion and fire-resistant coating technologies for steel structures.
Beijing Chentai Technical experts from the field provided a detailed explanation of architectural steel structure fire-protection systems from both project design and engineering implementation perspectives. They focused on the evolution of steel structure fire-protection standards, fire safety design and acceptance management, performance analysis of fire resistance and fire protection, thermal insulation and heat-resistance properties of materials, testing and inspection procedures, as well as construction and acceptance criteria. In addition, they analyzed common construction quality issues encountered in projects, along with preventive measures and solutions, and presented an overview of the current state of development in fire-retardant coating technologies and products. Through these discussions, participants gained a deeper and clearer understanding of fire-protection systems.
Jotun Paint Technical experts engaged in an exchange on “coating and painting technologies,” focusing on fundamental coating knowledge, surface preparation, application processes, and maintenance techniques. They analyzed common on-site production issues and product-related problems in coating operations, and, drawing on their extensive product portfolio, presented the design concepts and specific application scenarios of several specialized coatings. The successful implementation of these solutions has provided the industry with viable options for coating application and maintenance under challenging operating conditions.
Hangzhou Silver Tower Technical experts focused on “Quality Control of Protective Coatings for Steel Structures,” beginning with the corrosion and protection of steel, then introducing anti-corrosion coatings and integrated coating systems. The presentation centered on key topics such as quality control and inspection, common coating defects and repair strategies, and factors contributing to paint consumption during application. By drawing on specific production-process practices, the experts delivered a vivid and engaging explanation, enabling participants to appreciate the richness and diversity of real-world manufacturing.
Zhejiang Bridge Technical experts, focusing on the theme of “Application and Construction of Waterborne Industrial Coatings,” objectively outlined the environmental benefits and application scenarios of waterborne coatings. By examining the three critical factors—favorable timing, optimal conditions, and skilled execution—in coating application, they further analyzed the unique characteristics of these coatings. They also discussed common issues encountered in the practical production of waterborne coatings and proposed corresponding solutions, thereby providing a comprehensive technical overview for the effective implementation of waterborne, environmentally friendly coatings.

During the interactive exchange session, participants engaged in lively discussions on challenges encountered in their daily work, fostering in-depth dialogue that proved highly beneficial. This experience further enriched the technical staff’s knowledge of steel structure anti-corrosion and fireproof coating processes and enhanced their ability to apply these technologies effectively.
The training was attended by more than 90 participants, including Company General Manager Fang Shunsheng and Deputy General Managers Luo Mingwen and Wang Chunfeng, as well as senior and mid-level leaders from the Quality and Safety Department, Engineering Management Department, Manufacturing Department, workshops, Technical Center, Materials Procurement Department, and Pre-Settlement Center, both online and offline.
The successful implementation of this Quality Month campaign has provided an excellent platform for learning and exchange. Taking this as an opportunity, the company will further enhance its employees’ awareness of quality and their understanding of best practices in anti-corrosion and fire-resistant coating processes, pursue greater innovation and excellence in steel structure protective coatings, and deliver higher-quality products to our customers and society at large.
