Bridge Engineering

Hangzhou Qiantang River Fourth Bridge Project

Project Overview: The Qiantang River Fourth Bridge (Fuxing Bridge) is the world’s first urban double-deck multi-arch steel-tube arch bridge. With a total length of 1,376 meters and a width of 26.4 meters, the bridge features two 190-meter steel-tube arch spans and nine 85-meter steel-tube arch spans. In 2005, it was awarded the Luban Prize for Construction Engineering in China; in 2006, it received the Sixth Zhan Tianyou Award for Civil Engineering; and in 2009, it was recognized as one of the “100 Exemplary Projects” commemorating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
