At 9:18 a.m. on July 10, the final steel beam was precisely placed, marking the successful topping out of the main structure of the Block Assembly Workshop (Phase II-A) for the Capacity Enhancement Project of CSSC Changxing Phase II in Shanghai.

Located in the Changxing Island Shipbuilding Base, Chongming District, the project covers a floor area of 15,120 square meters, with a roof height of 37.9 meters. As part of a reconstruction and expansion effort, the new structure adds one bay to the existing workshop, with a total length of 336 meters and a span of 45 meters. Once completed, it will help streamline the shipbuilding process, eliminate production bottlenecks, and significantly enhance workshop capacity.

As a national key project approved by the NDRC, the Phase II project at the Changxing base plays a vital role in optimizing the layout and transformation of Shanghai’s shipbuilding industry. It supports national strategies such as building a strong maritime power, technological innovation, and “Made in China 2025.”
