On March 23rd, the first unit-style curtain wall of the tower in the Sanya Hualian Central Business District project was successfully hoisted, marking the official commencement of the curtain wall construction phase for the tower.

Located along the coastline of Sanya Bay in the Sanya Central Business District, this project is one of the key engineering projects of the Hainan Free Trade Port, with a total construction area of 168,700 square meters. The curtain wall project covers approximately 65,000 square meters, including the 133-meter tower curtain wall spanning 27 floors and the podium curtain wall spanning 4 floors.

The main curtain wall systems include unit-style glass curtain walls, framed glass curtain walls, point-supported glass curtain walls, grid curtain walls, aluminum plate curtain walls, honeycomb stone curtain walls, stainless steel fins, light troughs, and more. Both the steel structure and curtain wall engineering for this project are undertaken by Dadi Steel Structure, with the commercial podium and office tower successfully topped out last year.

The area of the tower's curtain wall is approximately 23,000 square meters, with framed glass curtain walls below the 6th floor and unit-style glass curtain walls above the 6th floor. The tower features structural large shrinkage at the 24th and 26th floors, along with curved variations in the overall facade curtain wall, posing increased difficulty for later curtain wall construction. Situated by the seaside with strong sea winds, ensuring that the unit panels, each measuring 7.5 square meters and weighing 0.9 tons, do not rotate or sway during lifting and installation is crucial to the tower's construction. Addressing this, the project management team conducted repeated calculations and analyses for the panel lifting, meticulously devised construction plans, and successfully passed expert validation at one go.

The podium curtain wall covers approximately 42,000 square meters, mainly consisting of glass curtain walls, honeycomb stone curtain walls, fins, and grid curtain walls, with about one-third of the construction already completed. The stainless steel fins on the west facade of the podium serve as a link between the podium and the tower, inspired by the undulations of the sea waves. With a maximum cantilever of 6 meters and the load-bearing point at the vertical mullion of the curtain wall, high load requirements are demanded. In construction, embodying the lightweight and agile nature of the fins while achieving natural integration between panels is crucial. Leveraging BIM modeling and 3D positioning technologies, the project's design and construction team seamlessly integrated design, processing, and installation, perfectly realizing the architectural design concept.
