Acceptance Achieved for the Terminal No.3 Metal Roofing Subproject of Guiyang Longdongbao Airport

(Summary description)With the mid-autumn festival around the corner, we have just accomplished the subproject of metal roofing for Guiyang Longdongbao Airport Terminal 3 in August 30 under the inspection and guidance of Guiyang Architecture Project Quality Supervision Station for the whole process accompanied by managers from the leadership of the phase III expansion headquarter, terminal project management, Guizhou Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., Shanghai Construction Supervision and Consulting Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Dadi Steel Structure Co., Ltd., China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd., Guizhou Analysis and Testing Research Institute, etc.The subproject consists of corridors (A zone), main building, corbel table (B zone), and connecting corridors (C zone), covering 110,000 m2 and mainly applying systems like roofing structure, structural layer, smart skylight, rainwater siphonage, and materials like steel, aluminum zinc board, vapor barrier film, thermal insulation rock wool, polyurethane rock wool, TPO, stainless steel gutter, honeycomb-like aluminum board, aluminum manganese magnesium board, with the materials covering 698,000 m2 and steel consumption of 3,160 metric tons. Electrochromic glass is adopted for the smart skylight with a coverage of 6,000 m2 which is the first advanced technology used by domestic airports. It can shade and daylight according to indoor light needs. To achieve the construction objectives during the work, the terminal project management convened many special meetings to overcome the major difficulties and set up special teams to carefully study the construction plan so as to solve corresponding problems. As for the technical part, the materials were prefabricated and equipment investment was strengthened with a good use of the limited time to ensure that the established goals for every stage would be met. At the same time, the management had been always enhancing the safety control for the work at height. No accident has happened since commencement. The BIM technology was scientifically applied with innovation to model the primary and secondary purlins and outer cornices in every working surface. These components were divided into several units to assemble and hoisted on the ground as a whole. Outer cornices’ aluminum plates were installed, caulked, and hoisted on the ground as a whole as well, which could improve the efficiency and quality, laying a technical ground for the objectives. Thanks to the long-term guidance of leaders in the supervision station, the meticulous deployment and efficient management of those in the expansion headquarter of phase III, and the joint cooperation of general contractor, supervision and construction units, the subproject has delivered acceptance.
