The project, Shangqiu International Convention and Exhibition Center, is situated in the core plot of Sun-Moon Lake. Our company is responsible for the construction of curtain walls and metal roofs in 8 areas, including the north corridor, 6 standard exhibition halls, and the landing hall. The metal roof is 56,273 square meters, the tension reinforcement roof 23,745 square meters, the glass curtain wall 26,076 square meters, and the metal curtain wall 57,738 square meters.

The project is multifunctional, for it can be used for exhibitions, conferences, catering, sports events, cultural tourism, etc. After completion, it will enhance the ability and reception service level of the city to undertake large-scale conference and exhibition activities, and become a window for opening up to the outside world.

The structural forms include frame type glass curtain walls, aluminum plate curtain walls, perforated aluminum plate curtain walls, honeycomb aluminum plate curtain walls, railing type curtain walls, lighting roofs, etc. There are so many curtain wall systems, large engineering quantities, and complex forms with high processing accuracy.

Due to the tight project schedule, the construction task is divided into sections based on the exhibition hall types and curtain wall types. All construction sections are carried out synchronously. Vertically,  the construction of the exterior facade(double layer curtain walls) is generally from top to bottom, while the interior facade and other curtain walls goes from bottom to top.

The curtain walls of this project are of large blocks with complex shapes, multiple curved and inclined parts. They belong to various systems, which require high installation accuracy. Therefore, to do a good job in measurement and setting out is a difficult task in construction. The three-dimensional positioning of the building facade and the positioning of interlayer supports are key control points.

In the metal roof construction, the project team developed a detail processing method of manufacturing and installing odd shaped purlins and brackets used for supporting the roof. Using it, a curved form of the roof is achieved. This method has also been awarded the provincial prize in Henan Province in 2022.

The north facade is designed to be externally inclined, with a small allowable deviation for steel structure installation, high welding quality requirements, and a large volume and spacing span of steel beams. The installation of this part is a difficulty in this project.

The Shangqiu International Convention and Exhibition Center is an important large-scale curtain wall project undertaken by us after we focus on the curtain wall field. Dadi Steel Structure will continue to do planning hinged on the “Five Major Sectors”, adhering to the "customer-oriented" concept, carrying out this landmark project of Shangqiu with high quality, and continuously enriching experience in the field of curtain walls.
