The Safe Workplace Month: Take Responsibility to Promote Safety

(Summary description)Since June 2021 is designated as the 20th safe-workplace-themed month, whose topic is “Take Responsibility to Promote Safety”, we issued in early June the Notice to Organize Activities for 2021’s Safe Workplace Month and made corresponding plans according to which each department and production unit has carried out various activities of safety education. A rich atmosphere of building safe workplace has been created here by methods as follows: showcase safety management and regulations; post slogan banners for safety education; present safety-advocating pictures with employees’ signatures, etc.Over 20 representatives among class monitors signed their names on the banners, claiming their commitment to implement the idea “safety is not a cliché” as the root ideology of the enterprise development. The planned fire drill consists of two parts: field simulation and practice. During the latter, safety personnel successively showed employees things to do in the place on fire and introduced before the fire he set in the field how to use the fire extinguisher; he also explained how it works, how it is classified, and some tips when using it. During the orderly scheduled process, all the employees have seen the true meaning of the idea. The awareness of fire prevention and safety reaction is raised. We invited a safety management expert to host the training program for essential leaders and managers from departments involved. On-site project managers attended the meeting via video link. The expert themed the training with “Taking responsibility for a safe workplace and prohibit misconducts on regulations”; the keywords to the meeting were responsibility, obligation, and attitude; two accidents were presented as educational cases. Through contents above, he described the responsibility to ensure safety, which is more important than anything, and how to implement the safety management by sharing his own experience.As explaining profound theories in simple language with an excellence in both of the voice and affection, the expert worked into the meeting things about the new version of The Law of Safe Workplace to be put on practice on Sept 1st and its overall guideline——To create a people-centered safe workplace, we need to make people’s well-being and life a priority, put safety on an upmost place, and address issues comprehensively with a focus on prevention——leaving a deep impression on everyone regarding safety issues.In light of different actualities of construction and production, each department has hosted training programs, risk alleviation, targeted inspection, and emergency drills to achieve the elimination of hazards and the control of safe quality, so as to provide a safe environment for the centenary of the founding of the Party. The activities for the safe-workplace-themed month are still on the go. We will continue to implement the guideline of putting safety on an upmost place and addressing issues comprehensively with a focus on prevention by applying methods to enhance governance from the source, because the cause to create a safe workplace is endless. We will also prepare for the battle against hazards every day, and stay calm and sharp when combating them, so that they will be eliminated before they happen.
