China Construction Metal Structure Association (CCMSA) announces in April 2021 the second round of the winning projects in the Fourteenth Session (2020) of Steel Structure Golden Reward of China, featuring the Steel Structure of Jinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center, constructed by Zhejiang DADI Steel Structure CO., Ltd. under general contract of Longyuan Construction Group CO., Ltd.

The Golden Reward of the Steel Structure of China’s Architecture, the highest honor of China’s steel structure industry, is established by China Construction Metal Structure Association under delegation of State Ministry of Housing and Construction. The winning programs, selected once a year, are steel structure projects of various types of buildings undertaken by steel fabricators and erectors in China, which must be conducted within the quality levels deemed outstanding for domestic architecture.

Located at Meiling Street, Jinjiang, Fujian Province, one of the starting points of Maritime Silk Road of Ancient Quanzhou, with a steel consumption of 14,200 metric tons, this building covers appr. 103,300 ㎡ and the underground area is appr. 29,400 ㎡, with the aboveground structure dividing into five areas: the exhibition halls, the central ecological hall, the north, and south halls, and the conference center.‘

The roof is a steel truss structure of a large span up to 66 meters with a single facade truss of appr. 101 metric tons. The ceiling of the Central Ecological Hall is single curved with 306m ribbon-like bars. Moreover, this project is the first PPP project undertaken by Long Yuan Construction Group Co., Ltd, and also the first PPP project of venue category constructed in China. As a professional construction company of steel structure, we overcame the difficulties such as the complexity of levers on intersecting joints, thick plates welding and the welding seam, etc. By so far, many auto shows and food shows have been held in this building which is no doubt a brand-new landmark of Jinjiang.
